We moved from the other side of the country and picked this real estate team based on a random Streeteasy recommendation, but it worked out extremely well mainly thanks to Alex F's dedication. - We worked with Alex F @ the Golan Team finding a 2BR condo in Brooklyn. We moved to NYC from the other coast and connected w/ this team just through Streeteasy. I'd only previously worked with real estate agents through referrals, so I was a bit skeptical getting connected with a "random" agent. Nope - I had no reason to be skeptical. Alex was fantastic - from our initial phone calls and FaceTimes right through post-closing. We worked closely to short-list places, and Alex gave some great nuanced insights into the different areas of Brooklyn, then when we visited to tour he did a good job of planning a tour of various shortlisted units to take the best advantage of our time. We were pretty torn between two units in two different parts of Brooklyn, but some advice Alex gave us (basically encouraging us to tour the neighbourhood a bit more) led to us picking a unit which we are now extremely happy with. Post-closing, Alex has been extremely helpful with sorting out a few issues (it's a new construction so we needed some things fixing so he's been working with the sponsor to get stuff sorted). NYC real estate is really different to the west coast so we really appreciated his personal touch. He's a great guy, very personable, and I'd assume this applies to his whole team. No regrets. Move to New York. Ask for Alex!

I also had experience with a variety of brokers, some didn't call back, some didn't know their merchandise or neighborhoods, some knew nothing of housing construction or codes. Josh and his fellow brokers hit the mark on everything—they answered emails and phone calls at all hours, they had actually seen the properties I was interested in before showing it to me, and had extensive knowledge of homeownership—from insurance to construction to laws that impact what you can do with your building. They will make your home buying experience as smooth as possible in the uniquely stressful NYC environment. If you buy from a contractor as I did, do not close until they are finished no matter what they promise. I worked in good faith with the professional banker, broker, and seller's attorney, and agreed to close quickly based on a contract to finish in a month. They haven't finished and I don't yet have a habitable house.
